Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and results-driven Construction Equipment Sales Representative for our North Las Vegas, NV location. This role is pivotal in expanding our customer base and enhancing relationships within the northwest LA and South Bay area, promoting the sales of both new and used construction equipment. The ideal candidate will bring industry expertise and a customer-focused approach to help clients select the right equipment solutions for their projects.


Purpose:
To drive sales of new and used construction equipment to new and existing customers, supporting Coastline Equipment’s reputation as a trusted dealer of John Deere machinery in the region.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Sales Representation: Serve as the primary representative for Coastline Equipment, engaging with clients in a defined sales territory to understand their needs and offer tailored machinery solutions.
  • Product Knowledge: Maintain in-depth knowledge of all machinery, highlighting features and benefits to inform and support customer decisions.
  • Market Awareness: Monitor and report competitive product activity to management to stay informed of market trends and provide clients with competitive insights.
  • Customer Relationship Management (CRM): Utilize the company CRM system to maintain updated records of customer interactions, preferences, and follow-ups within the assigned territory.
  • Sales Process Adherence: Follow a structured sales process to ensure consistency and effectiveness in all client interactions.
  • Company Vehicle and Equipment Maintenance: Ensure assigned company vehicle and equipment are properly maintained and presentable for customer interactions.
  • Event Support: Assist with organizing and executing customer events to promote equipment offerings and strengthen client relationships.
  • Field Demonstrations: Conduct hands-on demonstrations of new equipment at customer locations, showcasing capabilities and building client confidence in product performance.
  • Customer Trend Monitoring: Keep abreast of trends in clients' businesses, relaying relevant information to management to align Coastline Equipment’s offerings with evolving customer needs.
  • Financing Assistance: Stay informed about available financing options to help customers secure equipment purchases with confidence.
  • Sales Training: Attend applicable sales training sessions to continuously improve product knowledge and sales techniques.
  • Used Equipment Valuation: When applicable, assess the value of used equipment for trade-in purposes, ensuring fair and accurate evaluations.

Experience, Education, Skills, and Knowledge:

  • Experience: 2+ years of sales experience in the construction industry.
  • Product Knowledge: Familiarity with construction equipment and an understanding of operational practices.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with standard desktop applications, including Microsoft Office and internet tools.
  • Schedule Flexibility: Ability to work flexible hours to meet client needs.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong customer relationship skills, with a focus on clear and professional communication.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to review and interpret basic sales reports to inform sales strategies.
  • Language Skills: Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.

Other Requirements:

  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
  • Due to safety regulations, applicants must be 25 or older.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to drive and travel in a vehicle for client meetings and site visits.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds for product demonstrations and equipment handling.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Wage: Base salary plus commission.
  • Benefits: Coastline Equipment offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and paid holidays (benefits commence after 90 days of employment).
