Day-to-Day

  • Manages and tracks contracts and grants from a variety of government and grant awards.
  • Reviews external award notices for compliance, appropriate budget allocation and funding restrictions.
  • Assists in coordinating development and implementation of grant writing activities to include other development staff, contract grant writers, finance, and program staff.
  • Assists in assembling all pertinent grant material packages for final submission.
  • Ensures overall accuracy and quality of all grant contract documents leaving the organization.
  • Develops and maintains thorough knowledge of the Volunteers of America Texas contracts.
  • Conducts internal and external research on organization’s programs to build compelling case for support.
  • Assists with researching and identifying potential contributors to fund special project and ongoing operations through examination of giving history and interest and other information as available.
  • Manages grant compliant process to ensure that all funding requirements are met and follow-up reports are being submitted to funders.
  • Institutes/maintains appropriate record keeping for identification of funding prospects, and updates and maintain the grants management database.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, nonprofit management, psychology or business field plus three years related experience in managing grants.

  • Valid Texas Drivers’ License, clear MVR and ability to be insured
