Job Summary

Inspect, test and maintain various types of fixed fire systems, fixed gas systems, Aids-To-Navigation systems, firefighting & lifesaving equipment and suppression systems on offshore platforms, drilling rigs, MODUS and drill ships operating in the Gulf of Mexico.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Performs inspections, calibrations, troubleshooting and repairs of fixed fire detection systems, fixed gas detection systems, suppression systems, fire extinguishers, lifesaving equipment and aids-to-navigation. Ensure respective system(s) are in good working order and in compliance with the most up to date regulatory standards.
  • Provide customer and Acadian with all paperwork/documentation to satisfy governing authorities in a timely manner.
  • Conducts pre-job and post job meeting with customer
  • Perform basic maintenance and care of assigned company vehicle and/or assets.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum 2 years offshore experience.
  • Current Louisiana State Fire Marshal endorsement in fire extinguishers service and maintenance
  • Valid driver's license from state of residence and valid proof of vehicle insurance.
  • Proficiency in the care and use of all site specific, facility and customer required Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).
  • Be willing travel to customers site and available for travel for short and long-term out-of-town and/or offshore projects.
  • Willing to submit and pass a drug and alcohol test
  • Strong computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft excel and word
  • Electrical and/or electronics background to include troubleshooting and wiring of relay logic
  • Ability to operation Fluke multi-meter
  • Interface with various fire systems through computer
  • Ability to read SAFE chart, fire safety plan and schematics
  • Research regulatory document for most recent requirements (API, NFPA, CFR, etc.)
  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • Trade school/vocational school a plus
