Salary:  $74,000 - $95,000
Location:  In office

SUMMARY
Directs and coordinates activities in purchasing and distributing raw materials, equipment, machinery, services and supplies in the organization by performing the following duties personally, through subordinates or in coordination with project personnel.

Performs with a high quality and a professional approach to work and show initiative, productivity, a positive attitude and behavior. Performance should meet or exceed the established standards, goals and accountabilities of the position. Must adhere to the purchasing guidelines while developing and maintaining vendor relationships. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  include the following. Additional duties may be assigned.

  • Purchases supplies and materials for all operations including office, field and equipment .
  • Prepares and issues purchase orders, work orders, bare boat charters, towage agreements and other agreements as necessary
  • Coordinates with yard and project teams for pickup and delivery of purchased goods
  • Arranges for trucking of equipment and supplies with company resources or third party resources.
  • Prepares instructions regarding purchasing systems and procedures to further support the purchasing program.
  • Confers with vendors for best valued product including pricing, quality and service
  • Coordinates the Receiving function for purchased goods and arranges for shipping of items to remote sites, projects and yards.
  • Manages purchase orders status from ordered to close. Must receive and close PO in ERP system
  • Maintains warehouse inventory
  • Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.
  • Negotiates claims with vendors when applicable
  • Reviews purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy
  • Participates in developing and refining local and corporate purchasing policies and procedures with area and corporate management
  • Analyzes market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability and communicates to interested parties as needed
  • Maintains procurement records such as items or services purchased, cost, delivery, product quality or performance and inventories.
  • Arranges for disposal of surplus materials.
  • Coordinates expediting critical items. Responsible for the timely delivery of procured items, including but not limited to picking up procured items from vendors.
  • Participates in visitor safety orientations.
  • Ensures compliance with Manson’s code of Ethics and Standards of Business Conduct.
  • Responsible for practicing safe work standards and promoting Incident and Injury Free as a work environment.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, or
  • 5 years related experience and/or training

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must have a valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.

COMPUTER SKILLS
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required use hands and fingers, to grasp, grip, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, use stairs, ladders, and step stools and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up 10 pounds and may occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
