John Deere Construction Equipment Dealership with multiple locations serving Southern California, Nevada and Idaho is looking for a Service Writer/Administrator for our Bakersfield, California.

Purpose:

Assist the service manager and shop foreman in all aspects of administrative daily operations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist with all incoming service calls to include customers and internal employees.
  • Assist with opening all work orders for internal shop and field jobs.
  • Work with Service Manager and Shop Foreman to assign technicians to jobs and manage all shop work orders.
  • Work with Service manager to achieve best in class customer satisfaction.
  • Provides ongoing reporting to customers and internal departments regarding repair status.
  • Prepare all job estimates and communicate with customers and internal departments to acquire approval for repairs.
  • Create purchase orders as needed.
  • Assist in the maintenance of customer information.
  • Support organization in the benefits of clean, detailed data to improve Product Support.
  • Must always communicate with customers in a polite and respectful manner.
  • Establish efficient, consistent processes by leveraging best demonstrated practices.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Two-year college degree (AA or AS – bachelor’s degree preferred)
  • Two years of related industry experience OR equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong computer skills and the ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions, and company business system.
  • Knowledge of office procedures.
  • General understanding of mechanical/technical terms.
  • Strong communication skills.

Physical Demands:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a phone and computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds.
