We are currently looking for a Preventative Maintenance Service Tech.  The PM Service Tech is to conduct oil, filter, and lubrication services and to complete detailed inspections of construction heavy equipment.  

Safety:

  • Operate vehicle safely
  • Perform routine inspections of PM truck
  • Wear all necessary PPE when performing services, and adhere to all site safety requirements
  • Maintain CDL requirements
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and clean up procedures
  • Proper mounting and dismounting of machines

 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform complete oil, filter and lubrication services including checking and filling fluid levels to O.E.M. specifications
  • Follow all documented Morgan process and guidelines (date filters, change all filters according to service type, use appropriate oil for compartment)
  • Maintain proper contamination control while performing services
  • Take all samples correctly based on machine setup. Make sure they are taken cleanly and mail to lab daily
  • Fill out completed service list daily
  • Insert time daily so that work orders can be closed on-time.
  • Report mileage to shop office weekly
  • Keep parts storage area clean and organized, return parts in timely manner
  • Keep truck clean organized and in good working order
  • Complete service in a timely, efficient, and organized manor
  • Research and order parts for machines as needed
  • Working knowledge of parts websites
  • Verify service kits for new machine models. Work with shop to update as needed in Viewpoint
  • Stock and fill truck for days work
  • Grease machines with every service according to OMM
  • Complete machine inspection with every service and inform manager of any deficiencies
  • Complete small repairs as needed to ensure machine reliability
  • Train PM Service Technician Assistant
  • Assist as needed in the field and shop with repairs when workload allows

Qualifications:

  • Strong safety-orientation
  • High school diploma or (GED) equivalent
  • 3 years of experience
  • Knowledge of proper startup and shut down procedure
  • Knowledge of safe machine operation
  • Heavy equipment service/maintenance knowledge 
  • Able to perform machine inspections
  • Organizational and time management skills required. Must have the ability to set and keep priorities and professionally handle the stress associated with site needs
  • Must be a Team player that is enthusiastic and hard working with the ability to complete work with minimal supervision
  • High degree of interpersonal skills with solid written and oral communication skills is required
  • Must possess the personal discipline to establish the proper image as a representative of Morgan equipment group
  • Ability to perform duties with a sense of urgency 
  • Able to work in a dynamic, fast paced service environment. 
  • Proficient in the use of a computer and related software (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and be detailed oriented with a high level of accuracy
  • Valid CDL (Class B minimum) driver’s license and a safe driving record
  • Must be willing and able to travel throughout the Southeastern U.S. as needed
  • Ability to have a flexible work schedule, including working overtime and weekends as needed

Work Environment:

Work is performed outside in all types of environmental conditions. This position performs strenuous physical activity, for long periods, under varying and adverse field conditions. This position must be able to lift, carry, stand, walk on uneven surfaces, manually manipulate, grasp, reach out and above shoulder, climb, kneel, bend, twist, and push/pull.
