Machine Technician 

The Machine Technician at Bensonwood will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting a variety of woodworking and manufacturing machines. This role requires a strong understanding of machinery, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing environment.  

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Maintain woodworking and manufacturing machines, including CNC machines. 
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure optimal machine performance. 
  • Monitor machine operation and make adjustments as needed to maintain product quality and efficiency. 
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. 
  • Maintain detailed records of machine performance, maintenance activities, and production metrics. 
  • Assist in the development and implementation of process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality. 
  • Provide training and support to other team members on machine operation and maintenance procedures. 

Qualifications: 

  • Technical or vocational training in machinery operation or maintenance 
  • Electrician skills 
  • Availability for off-hours repairs 
  • Experience with hydraulics, welding/metalwork, pneumatics, and fabrication 
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in operating and maintaining woodworking or manufacturing machinery 
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics 
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools 
  • Familiarity with CNC programming and operation (a plus) 
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality 
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills 
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment 
  • Commitment to safety and sustainable building practices 

 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to stand, walk, and work on machinery for extended periods. 
  • Capability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds. 
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
