A Typical Work Day May Include:

Answer phones for Human Resources division and assist caller or transfer calls to the appropriate location.
Prepare memos, letters, and other correspondence for communicating with employees and applicants.    
Assist with application process, including posting vacancies, tracking applications, guiding applicants through the application process, verifying minimum requirements are met, and creating a matrix to compare candidates.
Input data pertaining to employee records in multiple systems, including the HRIS and drug and alcohol testing database, and the Be Well Derby Access database.
Collect and input data for multiple projects, including bi-annual pay studies, policy research, and CEAC requests.
Organize and prepare purchase requests and prepare packets for approval through Accounts Payable process.

What You Will Need:
Three years office support or related experience.
Ability to type 40 words per minute.
Knowledge of business correspondence, filing, typing, organizational skills, and clerical procedures.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Adobe.
Valid Kansas driver’s license, and driving record must meet commercial liability insurance requirements.  

 What Will Put You Ahead:
Associate degree in related field.
Ability to collect and analyze data and prepare reports using spreadsheet, word processing and presentation software.
Ability to produce accurate work products and meet time sensitive deadlines.
Ability to comply with privacy protection laws, including HIPAA and HITECH.
Must be able to recognize when information is confidential and protect the privacy of employees and dependents on the City’s insurance plans.
