Job Description
Plans, organizes, and directs all resources (people, materials, and subcontractors) for the successful execution of multiple projects. Leads teams in the construction of projects ensuring quality, schedule, cost control, safety, and customer satisfaction objectives are met. Serves as the primary point of contact for Owners.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provides input to estimating department for pre-construction services such as purchase orders and subcontracts.
- Reviews shop drawings for compliance with contract documents. Interacts with suppliers, subcontractors, and designers as necessary to ensure timely processing of all submittals.
- Develops overall project schedule with input from superintendent. Monitors schedule to ensure project progresses on schedule within prescribed budget. Takes corrective actions as necessary.
- Schedules, facilitates, and documents regular construction meetings as required.
- Monitors and ensures quality control along with superintendents and foremen.
- Assists superintendents with problem or conflict resolution; assists in driving subcontractors and/or Henkel workforce.
- Ensures storm water prevention plan is adhered to with proper documentation.
- Coordinates project activities complying with government regulatory or other governmental agencies.
- Manages the financial aspects of contracts with owners, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Completes quarterly job cost projections.
- Estimates and submits Change Order Requests. Consults with estimating department as required.
- Works with accounting department to submit monthly pay applications.
- Reviews and approves subcontractor and supplier invoices.
- Manages the scope of work and has a mastery of contract documents.
- Manages claims; identifies and resolves potential claims with subcontractors/suppliers/owners.
- Ensures jobs have safe working conditions and that safe work practices are in place. Establishes jobsite specific safety plan and assists superintendents and foremen with monitoring compliance to plan.
- Maintains working knowledge of OSHA regulations.
- Assists with superintendent meetings, annual employee meetings, company picnics, and other company events as required.
- Supports the achievement of EEO goals.
- Establishes and maintains positive relationships with Owners, architects, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Fosters team camaraderie; mentors Superintendents and Project Engineers; assures each person understands their role on the project.
- Documents best practices to share with other projects; ensures best construction methods are being used.
- Directs and ensures timely completion of all project close-out activities.
- Protects and promotes the interests of the Company; ensures all compensation for work performed is received.
- Champions skill development of our workforce. Assists with performance evaluations of superintendents and field employees as required.
- Ensures optimal utilization of company tools and equipment and promotes sharing of resources across all jobsites.
- Communicates and reinforces the Company mission statement, values, and goals to all employees working on jobsites.
- Assists with business development by participating in marketing presentations for certain projects.
- Performs additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.
