Position Summary
Responsible for overseeing and coordinating tasks for maintenance and repair of all mobile equipment at Kerford to maintain production and quality. Must abide by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely. Reliable attendance is required, including occasional Saturdays as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited, the following:
Maintains parts inventory, orders parts, and recommends critical spares for inventory.
Tracks tire usage and tire inventory.
Develops maintenance and repair budget forecast.
Schedules maintenance and repair of all equipment as needed.
Ensures repair data is gathered and accurately entered in reporting software.
Reviews oil analysis reports.
Recruits and trains new mechanics, ensures all mechanics have the resources and knowledge to perform repairs safely and efficiently.
Coordinates switch to an on-site hydraulic hose production system and train current employees to properly make hydraulic hoses.
Maintains technical knowledge by completing ongoing training programs required by the Company, attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications and establishing personal networks.
Assures all Lockout/Tagout program/policy for Kerford is followed by personnel.
Enforces all company safety policies.
Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervises union mechanics and union welder.
Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and
- three years equipment maintenance related experience and leadership experience; or
- an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Skills and Abilities:
- Must have a good understanding of maintenance facility flow along with a strong understanding of parts, systems and mine utility equipment.
- Ability to read and comprehend service manuals, SDS sheets and the company safety manual.
- Must be able to distinguish between safe and unsafe conditions in areas of work.
- Ability to lift, carry, and/or move up to 75 pounds.
