Due to continued growth, our Oak Creek, WI location is looking for a Fire Protection Estimator.  As a Fire Protection Estimator, you will be responsible for developing accurate and competitive estimates for fire protection projects, including fire sprinkler systems, fire alarm systems, and other fire protection solutions. Your role involves analyzing project plans, specifications, and other documents to prepare cost estimates and budgets that align with client needs and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Thoroughly understand assigned fire protection opportunities.
  • Study and interpret fire protection plans and specifications and make jobsite visits for survey as required.
  • Interpret and apply relevant codes, standards, and product details to opportunities.
  • Create initial fire sprinkler layouts and perform hydraulic calculations.
  • Consolidate relevant details into detailed estimate using estimating software.
  • Produce proposals to be sent to customers.
  • Take “ownership” of managing and tracking opportunities and proposals for follow up.
  • Meet with designers, project managers, and other team members to discuss opportunities and estimates.
  • Support and promote our safety policies and practices.
  • Ensure all company, customer and project policies, procedures, standards, etc., are adhered to.
  • Maintain effective relationships with new and existing customers.
  • Be a “Team Player” that is willing to help anyone who may need assistance.
  • Cross-sell all offerings of our business.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Fire sprinkler design background.
  • Understanding of fire sprinkler design software, codes and standards.
  • Excellent telephone, interpersonal, and communication skills are required
  • Experience in sales or customer service
  • Fire Protection experience
  • Ability to prioritize based on current project demands
  • Must be dependable and reliable with ability to complete tasks without need for follow-up
  • Good computer and keyboarding skills in various computer programs (i.e. Excel, Power Point)
  • General knowledge of office practices/procedures and office equipment
  • Ability to learn proprietary software
  • Work in a fast-paced service environment
  • Due to the nature of the customer interactions, this is primarily an office-based position.

 Specific Requirements: 

  • Fire sprinkler background
  • High school diploma
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery (copier/printer, etc.)
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% or more of the time
  • Open cube office work environment, noise level – quiet to moderate
