Richard Design Services (RDS) is currently seeking experienced Level II & III Mechanical Engineers.

Position Summary
We are seeking skilled and motivated Mid-Level / Senior-Level Mechanical Engineers to be part of our team at our Houston Westchase office.  The position will report to our Houston Office General Manager.

Job Responsibilities
• Participate in the development of a wide range of projects (Front End Studies, Front End Engineering Development, and Detailed Engineering).
• Analyze problems and take appropriate design actions to ensure the project meets client expectations.
Development of piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and associated documents, in conjunction with process engineers
• Piping engineering activities – This involves familiarity with piping specifications, metallurgy, hydraulics, stress analysis, etc.
• Development of equipment and Specialty Item data sheets.  This includes sizing and rating various equipment like pumps, horizontal and vertical vessels, heat exchangers, and air coolers.
• Development of requisitions for inquiry, coordination with vendors, and recommending final selections.
• May supervise, coordinate, and review the work of a small staff of engineers.
• Present technical information to peers or other personnel for review.
• Coordination and Interfacing with engineering and design disciplines in the development of projects.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering 
• Minimum years of Mechanical Engineering experience:
  Engineer II - 5+ years
  Engineer III - 10+ years
• Familiarity with codes and standards (ASME, API, ANSI, etc.)
• Good Communication Skills (Active Listening, Verbal, and Written)
• Work well in a Team environment
• Judgment and Decision Making
• Experience with Mechanical Engineering Software
• Strong desire to learn
• Leadership skills

Work Environment
•    This position primarily is performed from RICHARD's office located in Houston, TX, but may be posted temporarily on project sites, when required. Field site visits may be required regularly. The work will mostly take place in an office setting, and the employee will need to communicate with others in person, over the phone, and through email. The employee should be physically able to carry out the required tasks. They may need to visit Client facilities, so it's important that the employee is in good physical health in order to travel, conduct field assessments, attend meetings at various locations, and perform other duties as required.
