Overview  

The Vice President of Ready Mix is responsible for overseeing the production, delivery, and quality of ready mix concrete operations. This executive role ensures that all aspects of the ready mix division align with the company’s strategic goals, maintain high standards of quality and safety, and meet customer satisfaction. The VP of Ready Mix will drive continuous improvement, operational excellence, and innovation within the division. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Leadership and Strategy: 

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for the ready mix division to achieve the company’s growth and profitability goals. 
  • Provide leadership and direction to the management team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. 
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, market trends, and innovative technologies to enhance competitive advantage. 

Operational Management: 

  • Oversee daily operations of the ready mix plants, ensuring efficient production, high-quality output, and timely delivery. 
  • Implement and monitor performance metrics to drive operational efficiency and effectiveness. 
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines. 

Financial Management: 

  • Develop and manage the annual budget for the ready mix division, including capital expenditures, operational costs, and revenue targets. 
  • Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions to achieve financial goals. 
  • Optimize resource allocation and cost management to maximize profitability. 

Quality Control and Customer Service: 

  • Ensure the highest standards of product quality through rigorous quality control processes and continuous improvement initiatives. 
  • Foster strong relationships with customers, addressing their needs and concerns promptly and effectively. 
  • Implement customer feedback mechanisms to enhance service delivery and customer satisfaction. 

Talent Development: 

  • Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing team, providing coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities. 
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that encourages teamwork, innovation, and personal growth. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred. 
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the ready mix concrete industry, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. 
  • Strong knowledge of ready mix concrete production, delivery, and quality control processes. 
  • Proven track record of driving operational excellence, strategic growth, and financial performance. 
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and industry stakeholders. 
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
