Position Summary:
The Truck Driver is responsible for transporting loads to and from the company’s yard. This position will be based in Hunker, PA.
Essential Functions:
- Driving loads to and from the yard utilizing a flatbed trailer.
- Strapping and unstrapping loads onto the truck.
- Moving items utilizing a forklift.
- Washing and cleaning the truck.
- Performing light mechanical work on the truck.
- Hooking and unhooking the trailer on the truck.
- Lifting items up to and including 50 pounds in weight.
- Preparing/maintaining appropriate logs and documents.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Must have an active and valid Class “A” Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and a good driving record.
- Proven work experience as a flatbed truck driver.
- Experience driving a lowboy preferred.
- Experience strapping and unstrapping loads and hooking and unhooking the trailer required.
- Forklift experience required; certification preferred.
- Experience in maintenance and care of trucks preferred.
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather and driving conditions.
- Pre-employment drug screen and background checks are required.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- At least two (2) years of experience driving a flatbed trailer.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting while driving the truck.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
- Must be able to strap and unstrap loads onto the truck.
- Must be able to stand, walk, crouch, crawl, and carry occasionally.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, twist, balance, and climb regularly.
- Must be able to reach and handle objects frequently.
Work Schedule:
- This position is based out of Hunker, PA. Work hours are 40 hours per week, plus overtime, Monday through Friday; home almost every night.
Rate of Pay:
Pay rate is based on experience.
