John Deere Construction Equipment Dealership with multiple locations serving Southern California, Nevada and Idaho is looking for a Service Writer/Administrator for our Santa Maria, California location. 

Purpose: 

Manages the flow of work through the service dept. from customer interactions through repair completion and invoicing. Works with Service Manager to maintain a high labor performance through increasing service labor sales and technician productivity.  

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Support product support sales operations for the organization through collecting, analyzing, and interpreting equipment data. Data sources will be provided. 
  • Turn analyzed data into focused Product Support campaigns and sales leads to improve customer satisfaction and increase parts and service sales revenue and market share. 
  • Service Support Analyst will maintain a comprehensive knowledge of dealership products, services, policies, and procedures, and be knowledgeable of equipment technology, departmental systems/databases. 
  • Work with Coastline Marketing Department to provide best-in-class marketing for campaigns. 
  • Provides ongoing reporting of marketing campaign results. 
  • Gain understanding of business needs for each region and department and provide necessary analysis to increase Product Support revenues. 
  • May process warranty and/or product improvement claims including the computation of charges, submission, and follow-up. 
  • Assist in the maintenance of customer information, machine population files and sales leads. 
  • Support organization in the benefits of clean, detailed data to improve Product Support. 
  • Identifies competitors and provides analysis on these competitors. 
  • Provides management with reporting on all parts and service opportunities. 
  • Establish efficient, consistent processes by leveraging best demonstrated practices. 
  • Facilitate the communication of Product Support Sales information to employees. 
  • Create and present information in front of an audience. 
  • Acts as a liaison between John Deere and dealership for parts and service opportunities. 
  • Submit weekly updates as to the status of current projects / efforts.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 
Preferred two-year college degree (AA or AS – Bachelor’s degree preferred) and two years of related industry experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Basic knowledge of accounting practices 
  • Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions 
  • Knowledge of office procedures 
  • General understanding of mechanical/technical terms

Physical Demands: 

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a phone and computer. 
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds.
