Job overview
As a Fabrication Welder at CL Construction, you will be responsible for the installation, repair, and fabrication of grain facility equipment as well as materials needed for various construction sites such as, but not limited to, towers, spouting, sheet metal, and more. These tasks include the use of handheld power tools such as drills, grinders, and saws as well as non-powered handheld tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and repair grain facility equipment.
- Work under the direct supervision of the Foreman and Director of Millwright.
- Perform general construction tasks, including welding and fabrication.
- Read and interpret welding blueprints.
- Utilize a variety of powered and non-powered hand tools.
- Maintain compliance with all health and safety procedures.
- Identify and work with different metals, including types, thicknesses, and sizes.
- Perform general maintenance and upkeep of supplies and machines.
- Work from heights when necessary.
Qualifications
- Previous welding experience required (MIG, TIG, stick; dual shield flux core strongly preferred).
- Experience in Millwright, Welding, Agricultural Construction, Fabrication, Grain Elevator, Processing Plant, or Maintenance.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and strong technological skills.
- Motivated, punctual, and dependable.
- Ability to read a tape measure.
- Experience with sheet metal fabrication and structural steel erection preferred, but not required.
- Rigging experience preferred, but not required.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
