JOB DESCRIPTION

 Summary

Compile and process payroll data. Weekly filing, conversing with general foreman and supervisors, preparing time sheets and other miscellaneous tasks.

Essential Functions

  1. Compile payroll data such as weekly time, vacation time.
  2. Contact various department supervisors for any missed times or issues.
  3. Process weekly payroll data/timesheets.
  4. Produce Certified Payroll reports from payroll system software and submit to the necessary contractors weekly.
  5. Input wage garnishments as received and process payments to institutions handling the garnishment monthly.
  6. Backup assistance for other payroll representatives and provide customer service for field employees.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days of work are Monday through Friday; however, evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Required Experience

  1. High School Diploma; or one (1) to three (3) years of related on-the-job experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Prior Payroll processing experience necessary.  
  3. Well-rounded knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  4. Prior Certified Payroll knowledge helpful.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Overtime will be expected.

Excellent oral and written communication abilities are required.
