What we’re looking for:

We seek an experienced account manager with both great customer relationship management and analytical skills, to grow our largest, most sophisticated accounts.   

Job Responsibilities:

Business Relationships:

  • Own, develop, and expand relationships with Strong Hold’s top seven National Distributors.
  • Ensure contract terms are favorable for meeting revenue and profit goals.

Pricing and Negotiation:

  • Negotiate new pricing and terms annually with all national distributors.
  • Negotiate mid-year or off-cycle price changes as needed to address material cost increases.

Product Placement and Development:

  • Drive the placement of new products with national distributors.
  • Collaborate with Product Development to ensure competitive pricing and correct catalog positioning.

Product Monitoring and Catalog Management:

  • Continuously monitor and update product offerings, lead times, and attributes in catalogs and on websites.
  • Manage internal processes and requirements for catalog line reviews.

Competitor Monitoring:

  • Monitor competitor activities and provide actionable insights and recommendations.

Supplier Scorecards:

  • Own supplier scorecards; develop action plans with internal and external partners around shortfalls.

Adherence to MAP Policy:

  • Ensure national distributors adhere to the Minimum Advertised Pricing policy.

Relationship Development:

  • Develop and expand relationships with additional national distributors and strategic channel partners.

CRM Management:

  • Champion the use of CRM to improve quote conversion and overall customer experience.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and grow a small team of account management specialists.

Reporting and Sales Forecasting:

  • Report weekly and monthly on key leading and lagging indicators such as calls, leads, quotes, orders, and invoiced sales.
  • Understand performance trends and create sales forecasts based on data and customer input.

Job Requirements:

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in sales or account management, preferably with an industrial product sold through distribution.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Preferably experienced with MS Dynamics CRM.

Travel:

  • Ability and willingness to travel to visit customers and attend trade shows.
