Due to continued growth, we are excited to add a Licensed Fire Alarm Technician to support our team in Woburn, MA. As a Fire Alarm Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of fire alarm systems in various commercial and residential buildings. The technician ensures that all fire alarm systems comply with local, state, and federal regulations. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and a commitment to safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation: Install and program fire alarm systems, including panels, sensors, and related components.
- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and testing of fire alarm systems to ensure proper operation.
- Inspection: Conduct thorough inspections of fire alarm systems to identify and resolve any issues or potential problems.
- Repair: Troubleshoot and repair faulty fire alarm systems and components.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all fire alarm systems meet relevant codes, regulations, and standards.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent service to customers, answering any questions and addressing concerns about fire safety.
- Emergency Response: Respond to emergency service requests in a timely and efficient manner.
Qualifications:
- Licensing: Must hold a valid Fire Alarm Technician license as required by the state of Massachusetts.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of fire alarm systems.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Technical training in fire alarm systems is preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of fire alarm systems and components.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
- Proficient with hand and power tools used in the trade.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift and carry heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
Working Conditions:
- May work in various environments, including offices, schools, hotels, and industrial sites.
- May be required to work evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed.
- Exposure to the elements when working outdoors and to dust and noise in construction and industrial settings.
