The Crane Mechanic is responsible for the inspection, repair, and maintenance of diesel engines. This role entails diagnosing malfunctions, adjusting equipment, and ensuring the proper functioning of diesel-powered machinery. The position requires 40% travel and a technical degree in a related field.

Essential Functions:

  • Adjusting, repairing, or replacing any defective parts on diesel engines and related equipment.
  • Performing cleaning, lubrication, and other routine maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance.
  • Utilizing computerized systems or testing equipment to diagnose malfunctions and determine root causes of issues.
  • Repairing and validating emission control systems to meet regulatory standards.
  • Engaging with customers to discuss equipment problems and propose effective solutions.
  • Conducting necessary repairs, including transmission replacements, to restore functionality.
  • Operating and maintaining specialized machinery like combines or tracked vehicles.
  • Demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of various machines such as bulldozers, cranes, graders, and other equipment.

Required Qualifications

  • Possession of a valid driver’s license.
  • A technical degree in diesel mechanics or a related field.
  • Proven experience in diesel engine repair and maintenance.

  • Strong communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
