Project Director: Qualitative Research and Translations (Bilingual)

 

Position Summary

SSRS is seeking a bilingual (English and Spanish) Project Director for Qualitative Research & Translations to join our team. SSRS conducts research around a wide variety of topics, including health care, public opinion, politics, sports, technology, religion, media use, financial health, and a host of other important issues. Our clients come from academic, non-profit, government, and commercial sectors and our work informs critical decision-making in all those areas. Our team is made up of people who are passionate about research and are skilled in all aspects of the research process, including study design; quantitative data collection using telephone, internet, mail, and mixed mode methods; qualitative research; and analysis and reporting.

 

We are seeking a Project Director (PD) to support and manage a wide variety of qualitative research projects and support translation needs for non-profit, commercial, academic, and government clients.  The Project Director is responsible for supporting all aspects of high-quality qualitative research including in-depth interviews, cognitive interviews, focus groups, online bulletin boards, and other qualitative techniques. The PD is responsible for supporting the implementation of research projects from study initiation through analysis and reporting. The PD engages in all work involved in successful project execution. In addition, the PD is responsible for Spanish related translation activities, including instrument testing in Spanish, reviewing and advising on translation of survey-related materials, interacting with Spanish language research participants, and supporting translation of cognitive testing findings.

 

Ideal candidates are based in our Glen Mills, PA office, but remote work is a possibility for the right candidate.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with client service teams to implement qualitative research and fulfill Spanish-language needs in collaboration with the Director of Qualitative Research & Survey Design.
  • Manage participant recruitment process for qualitative research studies.
  • Support in-person and virtual qualitative interviews and focus groups, and online bulletin boards.
  • Monitor progress of qualitative studies to meet goals and provide support to troubleshoot issues that emerge.
  • Responsible for quality control and delivery of qualitative data, including transcripts, interviewer notes, and bulletin board data.
  • Support Spanish-translation needs across the company to ensure high-quality communications with Spanish-language research participants.
  • Support client relationship development and ongoing communications.
  • Other duties as the needs of the business dictate.

 

 

Position Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or higher in social science, communications, marketing, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Bilingual: written and verbal fluency in Spanish, required. Native Spanish speaker, preferred.
  • Experience recruiting and interacting with qualitative research participants.
  • Approximately 2-5 years of experience conducting qualitative research with diverse populations.
  • Experience managing all phases of qualitative research studies.
  • Professional attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft products, particularly Word and PowerPoint.
  • Organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

 

The position will be hybrid based in the Glen Mills office. Remote work is possible for the ideal candidate.
