Position Overview: The Field Lube Technician plays a critical role in maintaining the performance and longevity of Coastline Equipment’s machinery through routine maintenance, inspections, and documentation of repair needs. Working under the guidance of the Service Manager and senior technicians, this role ensures our clients’ equipment operates reliably and efficiently. With a commitment to quality, safety, and excellent customer service, the Field Lube Technician supports Coastline Equipment’s mission to deliver dependable service solutions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform manufacturer-recommended preventive maintenance services on John Deere and other heavy equipment, including oil changes, fluid checks, and filter replacements.
  • Minor Machine Repairs: Use hand tools, pneumatic tools, and specialized equipment to complete minor repairs as needed.
  • Customer Service: Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through excellent work ethic, clear communication, and professional appearance.
  • Routine Equipment Maintenance: Perform maintenance tasks on John Deere and other equipment at specified intervals, ensuring operational consistency.
  • Efficient Work Execution: Complete assigned work quickly and efficiently within standard job times to meet customer and company expectations.
  • Inspections and Documentation: Inspect equipment during maintenance to identify additional repairs, document findings, and submit timely work orders for transparency.
  • Accountability for Billable Time: Track time accurately on all assigned work orders, ensuring completeness of documentation and timely submission.
  • Tool and Equipment Maintenance: Operate and maintain vehicles, tools, and equipment in safe working condition to perform job responsibilities effectively.
  • Workplace Organization: Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all safety rules and regulations in performing assignments.
  • Product Knowledge: Stay informed on the latest John Deere and competitive products to provide knowledgeable service to customers.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience with vehicle operation and tools necessary for heavy equipment maintenance.
  • Understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems in construction and heavy equipment.
  • Proficiency with basic computer functions; familiarity with diagnostic tools like Service ADVISOR™ or similar systems is preferred.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work cooperatively and effectively within a team.
  • Basic toolset required to perform job responsibilities.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Other Requirements:

  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test and comply with random drug testing.
  • Must be 25 years or older due to safety regulations.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting 50 pounds and working in varied weather conditions.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, crawling, and climbing ladders may be required.

Physical Demands:

  • Able to handle, control, and feel tools, equipment, and machinery as part of daily tasks.
  • Capability to work in extreme temperature conditions depending on the season.
  • Physically able to handle the demands of heavy equipment maintenance.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Wage: DOE (Dependent on Experience).
