Position Overview:

The Project Manager, Industrial Construction is a critical leadership role tasked with overseeing the execution of complex industrial construction projects. This role requires a seasoned professional who can manage multi-disciplinary teams, coordinate large-scale projects, and ensure that all work is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. The successful candidate will act as a key liaison between clients, subcontractors, and company leadership, driving initiatives that enhance project efficiency and contribute to Total-Western’s mission of excellence.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning & Execution: Develop comprehensive project plans, including detailed schedules, resource allocations, and cost estimates, ensuring alignment with client specifications and Total-Western’s strategic objectives.
  • Budget & Cost Control: Manage project budgets, monitor expenditures, and implement financial controls to maintain project profitability while minimizing cost overruns.
  • Team Leadership: Direct and mentor cross-functional teams, including engineers, field personnel, and subcontractors, ensuring clear communication and cohesive execution of project tasks.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Identify potential project risks and develop proactive mitigation strategies; resolve issues promptly to keep projects on track.
  • Quality & Safety Oversight: Enforce strict adherence to quality standards and safety protocols on all project sites; conduct regular inspections and safety audits.
  • Client & Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders, providing regular progress updates, managing expectations, and addressing concerns throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate project documentation, including progress reports, change orders, and compliance records, to support informed decision-making and project reviews.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in industrial construction or a related sector.
  • Proven track record managing multi-million dollar projects with a strong emphasis on quality, safety, and timely delivery.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • In-depth understanding of construction processes, regulatory standards, and industry best practices.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to dynamic project requirements.

Preferred Experience:

  • Professional Project Management certification (e.g., PMP) is highly desirable.
  • Experience with EPCOM projects and familiarity with industrial construction challenges in sectors such as oil and gas, aerospace, or renewable energy.
  • Demonstrated success in managing large, diverse teams and fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Experience with Lean construction principles or other process improvement methodologies.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily field-based with a blend of office work; regular travel to project sites across the Western U.S. is required.
  • Fast-paced, dynamic work environment that demands flexibility, proactive problem-solving, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Reporting Structure:

The Project Manager, Industrial Construction reports directly to the Operations Manager and works closely with senior leadership, engineering teams, and field personnel to ensure the seamless execution of projects.


Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary Range: $90,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
