Project Manager

As the Project Manager you will own and manage a wide range of construction projects from start to finish. The Project Manager will oversee construction procedures and ensure they are completed in a timely and efficient manner. The Project Manager reports directly to the Construction Manager.  

 

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors to execute projects.
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget.
  • Understand job details ( plans, specs, work hrs , etc.)
  • Pre job scheduling ( hand off with estimator and super, locates , materials ordered to be delivered on time, etc.)
  • Develop project scopes and objectives.
  • Communicate with field managers to ensure that all cost codes and other metrics are understood and utilized
  • Ensure that all 811 utility locates are called in and updated throughout the project.
  • Develop a detailed project plan to track progress and measure performance using HeavyJob & Power BI.
  • Manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs.
  • Report and escalate to management as needed.
  • Manage the relationship with the client.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors.
  • Create and maintain all project documentation.
  • Review and approve employee timecards daily ensuring that all production quantities are coded accurately.
  • Review the WIP and communicate with the Controller regarding money received and prioritize outstanding payables on the project weekly.
  • Ensure that all project billing is issued on time and any unpaid invoices are addressed.
  • Upon project completion sign off on the project on the WIP and communicate with Billing Analyst and Controller regarding final billing and remaining payables.
  • Verify Lien Waivers to be signed and notarized.
  • Keep an open line of communication for field managers, staff, and customers at all times.
  • Maintain a 1 month look ahead with the estimation team.
  • Conduct weekly production meetings with field management of all projects prior to the weekly management meeting.

 

Skills and Experience

  • Full project oversight.
  • Experience in Project cost and budgets.
  • Experience in Project scheduling.
  • Ability to travel and work at job sites located predominantly in the southeast.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changes and plan adequately to prepare for them.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in order to manage a construction project effectively.
  • High level of organization to be able to keep up and stay on top of projects.
