Sales Engineer - Industrial Refrigeration
ColonialWebb is seeking an experienced Industrial Refrigeration professional to provide engineering solutions and sell projects to customers in the Mid-Atlantic Region. This is a remote position – this individual needs to be located in or near the Central/Eastern Tennessee area.
This position supports our industrial refrigeration business which performs installation, retrofit, repair, mechanical integrity, new construction, and small project work for industrial refrigeration systems and associated piping. Typical projects sold include construction and installation of ammonia refrigeration systems which are commonly found in food distribution centers, cold storage, and food processing facilities.

A day in the life:
- Build estimates, quotes, and pre-engineering solutions for customers
- Procure quotes from vendors and subcontractors
- Create proposals and present to customers
- Collaborate with internal project management, field construction, engineering and estimating teams
- Perform business development duties to find and secure new business opportunities
- Perform account management duties to manage and grow exiting accounts
- Be a technical resource for customers regarding their industrial refrigeration initiatives. Provide customers with new information on industry trends, capital budgets, technology, and industry news
- Build win/win relationships, continually seek to understand customer objectives and how our industrial refrigeration services fit into customers organizational goals
- Participate in community and industry organizations, represent ColonialWebb in outside activities to enhance our reputation, exposure, and goodwill in the region
You should have:
- Preferred experience for this role is 3-5 years of experience in the Ammonia Refrigeration working as a Sales Engineer, Project Manager, OR 8-10 years of experience in the HVAC industry working as a Sales Engineer
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred, but not required
- Demonstrated skills, experience, and proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
- Knowledge of industrial and ammonia refrigeration and how it impacts food processing, bottling, baking, warehousing, and other industries associated with the production, storage, packaging, and distribution of food products (preferred)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to estimate and sell projects
- Sophisticated networker and a member of (or willingness to join) applicable industry associations
- Ability to work within and take the lead (when appropriate) of collaborative teams working toward a customer solution
- Ability to manage customer relationships, perceptions, and expectations
- Must be willing to travel in the sales region
