We are currently searching for an Electrical Estimator to work with our Industrial Division out of our Spartanburg, SC office.  Our Industrial Division performs Civil, Structural, Electrical, and Mechanical scopes in the power, water/wastewater, marine, mining, and other Industrial Process markets. We work on a variety of unique projects and as such, the successful candidate will have the ability to recognize risks and develop appropriate strategies to mitigate risks, as well as strive to find methods/technologies to provide competitive advantages.

The Electrical Estimator will need to have a strong background in both power and control systems, electrical raceways, grounding installation, cable pulling, electrical gear/panel installations, terminations, and lightning protection installation.  This individual will create estimates by reviewing project plans, specifications and other bid document requirements.  Responsibilities will include developing the following:

  • Quantity take-offs
  • Material pricing
  • Labor quantities
  • Equipment needs
  • Project schedule
  • Scope clarifications
  • Proposal deliverables

The Electrical Estimator will also collaborate with the Estimating Manager and other discipline estimators (concrete, structural, pipe, etc.) to develop the project, estimate, bid proposal, schedule, and other deliverables. Estimators also participate in project hand-off and preconstruction activities for successful bids.  

Qualifications:.

  • Minimum of 5 years in estimating, project management or other related fields 
  • Be proficient in all computer software programs used in estimating.  
  • Possess strong mathematical and computer skills. Proficiency with general software systems such as:
    • Primavera P6
    • Microsoft Office
    • Bluebeam
  • Knowledge of construction safety requirements and scheduling

 

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers, grasp, reach with hands and arms, see, speak, and hear. Frequently stand and walk. Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or bend. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Most work is performed in office environment.
