Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, secure, and maintain relationships with both new and existing customers in commercial agriculture, positioning CL Construction as a turn-key solution for their needs. Actively pursue and win construction projects across multiple sectors, aligning CL Construction’s services with customer demands in both public and private sectors.
  • Enhance the visibility and awareness of CL Construction’s brand and service offerings in the commercial agriculture market through networking, outreach, and strategic marketing initiatives.
  • Develop and execute a strategy to engage the right customer base for each of our service lines.
  • Build and nurture long-term relationships with key decision-makers, including Chief Operation Officers, Boards of Directors, CEOs, and senior executives.
  • Utilize and grow your network to drive business opportunities.
  • Conduct in-depth market research to identify emerging trends and potential customers across multiple industries.
  • Work closely with project management, operations, and fabrication teams to ensure the seamless transition from business development to project execution.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of business development, sales, or related experience required.
  • Proven experience in the agricultural sector, with a solid understanding of construction processes and project requirements preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of CL Construction’s operational capabilities, ensuring alignment between customer needs and the company's expertise. This includes a deep understanding of what CL Construction can deliver as a turn-key solution and the ability to sell within the company’s core competencies.
  • Ability to collaborate closely with internal teams, including project management and operations, to understand capacity, scope, and resources for each project.
  • Skilled at pushing opportunities where necessary, but with a focus on staying within the company’s strengths, ensuring realistic and achievable commitments are made to customers.
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to push for growth in areas where the company excels while staying grounded in realistic project deliverables and timelines
  • Strong professional network within the agricultural community, with established relationships with cooperatives, and agribusinesses preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Agriculture, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven track record of closing large, complex deals and securing long-term partnerships preferred.
  • Ability to craft and implement a business development strategy that targets multiple sectors and identifies CL Construction as a comprehensive, turn-key service provider.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to confidently present to senior decision-makers, such as Boards of Directors, CEOs, and executives.
  • Highly driven and capable of working independently to achieve or exceed business development goals.
  • Familiarity with the commercial agricultural landscape in Nebraska and surrounding regions, with a strong understanding of market opportunities in these industries preferred.
  • Experience working in or with cooperatives, agribusiness, or public sector customers preferred.
  • Knowledge of construction timelines, budgets, fabrication processes, and multi-sector project management.
