Part-time Marketing & Events Specialist

Shift: 1st shift, 4 or 5 day work week, Average of 19 hours per week (some nights and weekends)

A Typical Work Day May Include:
- Coordinate Third Thursday events, including vendor and artist recruitment and management, business partnerships and sponsorships.
- Assist with event website and social media management for Third Thursday.
- Assist in the development of strategies to market the City as a tourist destination.
- Facilitate, schedule meetings, and professional development training for the Derby Tourism Coalition.
- Act as liaison between the City and local attractions.
- Plan and assist with the execution of marketing plans for City events.
- Assist with graphic design and photography for city events and tourism.
- Assist in planning and developing strategies to enhance the City’s image and community engagement efforts.

What You Will Need:
- Three years of experience in marketing and communications.
- Three years of experience in social media management.
- Associates degree in related field.
- Proficient in Microsoft software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Valid Kansas driver’s license, and driving record must meet commercial liability insurance requirements.
What Will Put You Ahead:
- Photography and graphic design experience.
- Bachelors degree in related field.
- Working knowledge of event management (plan, organize and execute events).
- Ability to produce accurate work products and meet time sensitive deadlines.
- Team player who is willing to help wherever needed.
