As a result of continued growth, we are currently seeking new and current Union 669: Sprinkler Apprentices in the Baltimore, MD area.
Responsibilities:
- Apprentices will complete on the job training by working with a journeyman sprinkler fitter installing automatic fire protection systems
- Successful completion of the necessary courses to obtain journeyman status as directed by the JATC
- Other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
- At least 18 years old with a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Problem solving skills and the ability to coordinate and work with others
- Strong mechanical background preferred
- Proven ability and track record of performing work in a timely manner and meeting deadlines
- Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment
- Receive a 4 or higher on the NJATC Electrical Trades Aptitude Test developed and validated by the American Institutes of Research
- Discharged military personnel must provide their DD-214 forms
Required Licensing:
Wage Range: Starting wage during the program is $21.15/hour.

Typical work conditions are:
Most work is at the ceiling level using ladders and lift platforms at heights ranging from 8-20 feet and in some cases up to 100 feet. The work is performed at varying degrees of height indoors between the roofs and ceilings of buildings or outside installing underground pipe work in a variety of weather conditions. Work requires physical stamina with considerable climbing, bending and carrying heavy pieces of pipe while working in elements ranging from hot boiler rooms to unheated open buildings. Apprentices receive safety training to improve manual dexterity in handling the tools of the trade without injury and to reduce the risk of injuries from falls.
