Shift: 1st Shift, 5-day work week
Compensation: Pay Range: $22.68 - $30.62 per hour, depending on qualifications
Stand-by On Call pay = $3/ hr.
Call back minimum =3 hours pay
Certification pay = Up to $4,368 per year (based on number of Water, WW, and Lab certs)

A Typical Work Day May Include:
Operate power drawn pumps and related machinery.
Conduct daily checks of operational gauges.
Operate motor vehicle on a regular basis.
Troubleshoot problems, routinely inspect, and maintain all department equipment, machines, pumps and motors in good working order.
Maintain utility facilities in a clean and safe condition.
Conduct minor maintenance tasks and repairs, including general construction, painting, grounds maintenance, metering facility maintenance, water production facilities maintenance, and assist with snow removal as required.
Collaborate with other divisions to maintain the stormwater sewer system.
Assist the fire department with the fire hydrant maintenance program.
Prepare and maintain proper records, reports, and documents related to the division in an organized manner.

What You Will Need:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Valid Kansas driver’s license and driving record must meet commercial liability insurance requirements.
Valid Kansas commercial driver’s license, required within six months of employment.
What Will Put You Ahead:
One year water treatment/distribution systems experience.
Class I KDHE Wastewater or Water Operator certification, required within eighteen months of employment.
General knowledge of mechanics, wastewater/water testing equipment, wastewater/water plant maintenance and operation, and minor electrical work.
General knowledge of computers with the ability to operate and comprehend utility billing software, digital forms software, SCADA system, and radio read software.
