Position Overview: The Parts Warehouse Associate is essential to Coastline Equipment’s mission of providing exceptional service and reliable machinery to our clients. Based in our Lake Forest, CA location, this role is responsible for managing inventory, fulfilling orders, and supporting our service technicians with the necessary parts and supplies. The Parts Warehouse Associate ensures the smooth operation of our parts department, contributing to the overall efficiency and success of our service and sales teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service Excellence: Quickly establish rapport and build strong relationships with customers, providing a quality customer experience through in-depth product knowledge and efficient use of systems.
- Order Fulfillment: Accurately fulfill online and in-store orders in a timely manner, ensuring parts are placed in the designated will-call area for customer pickup.
- Parts Recommendations: Provide expert parts recommendations, including suitable alternatives that meet customers’ specific needs and project requirements.
- Support Service Technicians: Supply service technicians with the necessary parts promptly, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal equipment performance.
- Inventory Management: Maintain inventory integrity by verifying the receipt of shipments, organizing parts in their proper locations, assisting with cycle counts, and addressing inventory discrepancies by reporting to the Parts Sales Lead.
- Showroom Maintenance: Assist in preparing and maintaining a professional showroom image and merchandise displays, ensuring a clean and organized environment.
- Tool and Equipment Maintenance: Maintain all departmental tools and equipment in good working order, ensuring readiness for daily operations.
- Continuous Improvement: Proactively seek and participate in company-sponsored training programs to enhance knowledge and skills, contributing to personal and professional growth.
- Team Collaboration: Foster positive and professional working relationships with peers, management, and support resources, demonstrating a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure that the company’s reputation and image in the community align with Coastline Equipment’s Core Values, and safely operate a forklift and other related equipment as needed.
- Additional Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned to support the overall functioning of the parts department.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent experience.
- Ability to connect with customers, maintain a professional image, and establish rapport effectively.
- Understanding of basic selling processes and customer service principles.
- Basic data entry and keyboarding skills, with experience utilizing Microsoft Office or similar computer programs.
- Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
- Physical capability to lift items weighing up to 75 lbs.
- Highly developed interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of parts and machinery related to heavy equipment.
Preferred Experience:
- Prior experience in a heavy equipment dealership or rental company.
- Industry-recognized certifications in parts management or related fields.
- Familiarity with parts inventory management software and diagnostic tools.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and best practices in warehouse settings.
Work Environment:
- This position is primarily based in our Lake Forest, CA warehouse environment, involving both office and warehouse duties.
- Minimal travel is required, though occasional visits to other local branches may be necessary.
- The role involves working in a dynamic environment with regular lifting and handling of heavy parts and equipment.
Reporting Structure:
- Reports to the Parts Sales Lead.
- Collaborates closely with Parts Warehouse Associates, Service Technicians, and the Sales team to ensure efficient operations and high levels of customer satisfaction.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Pay Range: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour, based on skills, qualifications, and experience.
