Position Overview:
Coastline Equipment is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Precision Solutions Territory Manager to spearhead the sales, rentals, and training of TopCon and John Deere Precision Construction GPS, Laser, and Optical equipment across our California locations, including Long Beach, Oxnard, Santa Maria, and Bakersfield. This pivotal role is essential for expanding our market presence, fostering strong customer relationships, and ensuring the successful implementation of precision solutions that align with Coastline Equipment’s commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction. The Territory Manager will play a key role in driving revenue growth and enhancing our reputation as a leader in precision construction technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales and Rental Management: Promote and sell new and used TopCon and John Deere Precision Construction GPS, Laser, and Optical equipment within a defined territory, achieving sales targets and expanding market share.
- Customer Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions to support their construction projects.
- Product Expertise: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all equipment features, benefits, and competitive landscape to effectively position Coastline Equipment’s offerings in the market.
- CRM Utilization: Manage and update all customer information and sales activities within the CRM system to ensure accurate sales tracking and reporting.
- Market Analysis: Monitor competitive activities and market trends, collaborating with management to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
- Event Coordination: Assist in planning and executing customer events, demonstrations, and field presentations to showcase equipment capabilities and foster customer engagement.
- Training and Support: Provide comprehensive training to customers on the operation and maintenance of precision equipment, ensuring they maximize the value of their investments.
- Operational Excellence: Maintain assigned equipment and company vehicle, ensuring they are in excellent condition and ready for customer interactions and field demonstrations.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or GED; additional technical or sales training preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of equipment sales experience, preferably within a territory-based role.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of the construction industry and operational practices related to precision equipment. Proficiency with iOS platforms and Microsoft applications, including Excel and Word.
- CRM Proficiency: Experience using CRM systems for sales management and customer relationship tracking.
- Language Skills: Excellent customer relationship skills with the ability to communicate effectively in both Spanish and English (preferred).
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze and interpret sales reports to inform strategic decisions.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work varied hours to meet customer and business needs.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities. Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team and build strong client relationships.

Preferred Experience:
- Industry Knowledge: Prior experience in selling precision construction equipment such as GPS, Laser, and Optical systems.
- Certifications: ASE certification or other industry-recognized certifications in equipment sales or technical training.
- Product Familiarity: Familiarity with TopCon and John Deere product lines and diagnostic tools.
- Financial Acumen: Knowledge of financing programs and sales incentives to support equipment sales and rentals.
- Event Management: Experience in organizing and executing customer events and field demonstrations.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with CAD software or other technical design tools is a plus.
Work Environment:
- Hybrid Role: This role is primarily office-based with significant field activities, including on-site customer visits and equipment demonstrations.
- Travel Requirements: Requires flexibility to travel within the California territory, including Long Beach, Oxnard, Santa Maria, and Bakersfield.
- Environmental Conditions: Ability to work in diverse environments, including construction sites and client offices, often under varying weather conditions.
Reporting Structure:
- Reports To: Regional Sales Manager.
- Collaboration: Collaborates closely with Sales Representatives, Service Technicians, and Parts Specialists to ensure comprehensive customer support and service delivery.
- Team Interaction: May oversee or mentor junior sales staff within the territory as needed.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary: $85,000 - $125,000 per year (Base + Commission), commensurate with experience and performance.
