QUALITY CONTROL COORDINATOR
The Quality Control Coordinator (QCC) primary responsibility is to mitigate risk on project in the construction phase by assisting project teams to follow McGough Quality Control processes. The QCC will create standard forms for company use and support the Quality Control Department in general.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Strong knowledge of construction sequencing.
- Knowledge of building fire ratings.
- Strong critical thinking, creative problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and listening skills.
- Ability to build to relationships and deal with issues calmly.
- Experience with construction-related software including Bluebeam, Microsoft office, Procore.
- Knowledge of building envelopes
- Ability to set up meetings, lead meetings, take minutes, distribute and follow up.
Preferred:
- Four-year degree in construction management or engineering
- Building official certifications
Office and Travel:
Regular travel up to 30% of the time depending upon local and regional project locations.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Create Inspections on Procore for various scopes of work.
- Track risks identified in the Pageturn process and help project teams mitigate those risks through RFI’s, regular project team quality touch bases, trade partner coordination efforts, preinstallation meetings, first works / mockups and general documentation.
- Create a project specific quality plan and work with project team to implement the plan through the life of the project.
- Lead regular touch bases with project teams. Discuss current issues, identify and plan for upcoming scopes of work.
- Lead / assist with preinstallation meetings including identifying transitions with adjacent construction that needs clarity with scope and sequence, substrate acceptance criteria, and clarity about the inspection testing plan for that scope of work.
- Lead / assist with first work meetings including documenting the installation.
- Learn and understand building codes that apply to each unique project to ensure regulations are being followed by all parties working on project site including subcontractors.
- Coordinate with project teams to ensure sound engineering principles, and construction best practices are utilized on project.
- Perform or guide enclosure related construction observations, administration, and evaluation of contractor performance to ensure project deliverables and quality standards are achieved.
- Review or guide review of construction-related drawings, technical specifications, reports, and other construction documents related to enclosure systems for new and existing construction projects.
- Observe site functional performance testing and review construction mock-up designs.
- Perform investigations and site reviews to determine design and repair options, building investigation reports and other construction documents related to project investigations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned
