SUMMARY
The shoreman is responsible for assisting in the fill site and shore-side dredge operations. The employee must be able to work 8 to 12 hour, rotating shifts on all types of dredges or marine construction projects. Must be able to provide transportation to and from the jobsite(s). Extensive travel is required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- May complete other projects and duties as assigned
- Assists with the lubrication of machinery and inspects fluid levels
- Cleans fill site work area and provides fire watch as needed
- Chips, paints, sweeps and washes down equipment on the job site
- Acts as signal person for the equipment operators and helps to unload, load and secure pipe and other equipment and materials on trucks, dredges, deck barges, etc.
- Inspect shore pipe for leaks and assists with work on the pipe
- Check gauges and meters in order to record accurate daily logs on shore equipment
- Maintains inventory of tools and supplies
- Safely secures the work area to allow only authorized personnel onto work zone
- Performs JSA’s prior to work activity and executes work accordingly
- Operates four-wheel rough terrain vehicles for transport and delivery
- Ensures compliance with Manson’s Code of Ethics and Standards of Business Conduct.
- Responsible for practicing safe work standards and promoting an Incident and Injury Free (IIF) work environment as a condition of employment
QUALIFICATIONS

SKILLS and EXPERIENCE
Marine experience preferred. Must have ability to give, receive, understand, respond and follow verbal and written communications and instructions. Must be able to take direction well and work cooperatively with other colleagues.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid driver’s license required. Valid Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC) preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The employee must be able to meet the physical requirements of this position, including:
Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and on marine vessels in water
Able to safely execute duties in and around heavy equipment/large machinery in marine dredging and marine construction job sites
Able to wear the personal protective equipment (PPE) required of various construction work environments (hard hats, personal floatation devices, safety glasses, respirators, etc.)
