We are currently seeking a Director of Risk Management!

The Head of Risk Management will develop, execute, and administer the insurance and risk strategy for AMC. The role will oversee and coordinate the company’s insurance placement and administration as well as manage and lead the company’s master insurance and captive insurance programs. This position is a key component of AMC’s growth strategy, managing, advising, and leading on all elements of Risk at the company. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing risk and insurance strategies, policies, and procedures that align with our business objectives and regulatory requirements. Leading the Risk function supporting corporate and property risk and insurance needs, and collaborate with other senior managers, leaders, and external stakeholders of AMC.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing management of the company’s new Master Insurance Program, ensuring consistency of coverage across the organization while optimizing cost-efficiency and risk transfer strategies.
  • Oversee the establishment and operation of the new Captive Insurance Program, including determining appropriate coverage, capitalization, underwriting processes, and performance metrics to ensure long-term financial viability and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop comprehensive benchmarking and key performance indicators (KPIs) for the Master Insurance and Captive Programs to measure program effectiveness, cost performance, and claims outcomes over time.
  • Collaborate with actuarial partners to perform detailed risk assessments, loss forecasting, and captive feasibility analyses to inform strategic decision-making for risk financing structures.
  • Proactive management of processes required to administer insurance placements including Property, Casualty, Professional Indemnity, Cyber, D&O/EPL, Crime, Fiduciary, and other specialty insurance.
  • Develop and implement internal controls, checks and balances, and reporting policies and procedures.
  • Lead collection and organization of annual exposure data from key stakeholders, facilitating effective risk analysis and strategic decision-making and acting as primary liaison between risk team and internal stakeholders.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of contracts to ensure insurance requirements are properly addressed and comply with established policies and standards.
  • Advise the business regarding their insurance requirements and potential coverage options, ensuring tailored solutions that align with standards.
  • Ensure effective management of Risk Management Information Systems.
  • Champion the adoption and implementation of innovative tools and technologies.
  • Vendor management oversight including service level agreements and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Articulate complex insurance and risk management concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Actively engage in supporting education and training programs designed to elevate understanding and implementation of insurance best practices throughout the organization to foster a culture of proactive risk management and informed insurance decision-making.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements in the insurance industry. Evaluate and recommend innovative solutions to enhance the insurance team’s best practices

Requirements:

  • Highly disciplined and able to make independent decisions and work with limited supervision while excelling in a fast-paced, dynamic, and demanding environment.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of commercial insurance lines, insurance policy forms, wordings, insurance market dynamics, and conditions; experience managing a captive insurance program and/or master insurance program a plus.
  • Proven experience in implementing or managing Master Insurance Programs, including the ability to negotiate policies, streamline coverage gaps, and manage limits/deductibles across diverse property portfolios.
  • Experience in integrating new insurance solutions with existing risk management frameworks and systems to ensure seamless operations and reporting.
  • Demonstrated expertise in launching and managing a Captive Insurance Program, including feasibility studies, regulatory filings, reinsurance placements, and financial performance monitoring.

Compensation: Full- Time $150,000.00 to $250,000.00 per year
