Position Overview:

Coastline Equipment is seeking a dedicated and reliable CDL Class A Delivery Driver to join our Meridian, Idaho branch. This crucial role is responsible for the transportation of heavy construction equipment to and from customer job sites and between Coastline dealer facilities. The Delivery Driver plays a vital part in ensuring timely and safe delivery of our machinery, directly contributing to the satisfaction of our clients and the overall success of our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Equipment Transport: Safely transport heavy construction equipment to and from customer job sites and between Coastline dealer locations, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries.
  • Loading and Unloading: Efficiently load and unload construction equipment, utilizing proper techniques and equipment to secure loads and prevent damage.
  • Support Departments: Assist the rental, sales, and service departments with equipment delivery and pickup as directed, ensuring seamless operations across departments.
  • Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate records of pickups and deliveries, including obtaining necessary signatures and receipts to ensure compliance and accountability.
  • Compliance Adherence: Maintain all required certifications in line with DOT, OSHA, and company policies, ensuring all safety protocols are followed during operations.
  • Time and Distance Accounting: Accurately account for all time and distance traveled in performing assigned duties, completing truck logbooks as required.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Ensure assigned trucks and related equipment are maintained in good operating condition through regular inspections and maintenance.
  • Customer Communication: Exhibit strong communication skills when interacting with customers on job sites and within customer offices, addressing any concerns or special requirements promptly and professionally.
  • Early Hours Availability: Be available to work early morning hours as needed to meet customer delivery schedules and project timelines.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the manager to support team objectives and company goals.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year as a semi-trailer truck operator, preferably with rollback truck experience.
  • Licensing: Valid CDL Class A license required.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in performing pre-trip inspections and understanding mechanical aspects of haul trucks.
  • Physical Ability: Capable of lifting items weighing up to 75 lbs and properly chaining down construction equipment on the truck deck.
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Behavioral Traits: Demonstrates reliability, attention to detail, and a commitment to Coastline Equipment’s core values of safety, customer service, and professionalism.

Preferred Experience:

  • Industry Experience: Experience in transporting heavy construction equipment within the construction, road building, mining, or forestry industries.
  • Advanced Certifications: Additional certifications related to heavy vehicle operation or safety protocols.
  • Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and fleet management software.
  • Multilingual Abilities: Ability to communicate in multiple languages to better serve a diverse client base.

Work Environment:

  • Field-Based Role: Primarily involves driving and operating heavy machinery in various outdoor settings.
  • Travel Requirements: Regular travel within the Western United States, including frequent visits to customer job sites and Coastline dealer facilities.
  • Environmental Conditions: Ability to work in diverse weather conditions and on different types of construction sites, ensuring adaptability and resilience.

Reporting Structure:

  • Reports To: Logistics Manager
  • Collaboration: Works closely with the rental, sales, and service departments to coordinate equipment deliveries and pickups.
  • Team Interaction: May collaborate with other drivers and support staff to ensure efficient and effective transportation operations.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary Range: Competitive wage ranging from $28.00 to $30.00 per hour, based on skills, qualifications, and experience.
