Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Shop Driver to support our team in Baltimore, MD. As the Shop Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of merchandise and goods to various locations as required. This role involves driving company vehicles, ensuring the proper loading and unloading of cargo, and maintaining vehicle cleanliness and maintenance schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate company vehicles to transport goods to specified destinations in a timely manner.
- Verify the accuracy of delivery documents and ensure proper loading and unloading of products.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues to the maintenance department.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the vehicle, both inside and out.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety regulations during all driving activities.
- Assist with inventory management and handling of goods within the shop as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain positive relationships with customers during deliveries.
- Manage delivery schedules and routes efficiently to optimize time and resources.
- Record and report all delivery confirmations and discrepancies to the logistics team.
- Participate in any required training sessions or meetings.
Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Must have or be willing to obtain a DOT card.
- Proven experience as a driver; delivery experience is a plus.
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations.
- Ability to operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift heavy packages as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays if required.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions.
