Purpose:
Manages service operations within the dealership to maximize return on investment by optimizing Service Department processes to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction. Grows profitable service labor sales and exercises disciplined expense control. Attracts, retains, and effectively engages department personnel.

Responsibilities:
-Develops, communicates, enforces and monitors effective Service Department processes to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction
-Creates annual Service Department goals and budget, in alignment with the organization’s financial and operational objectives
-Lead and support the customer experience for all service department customers both in-person and over the phone
-Develops and executes work flow plans to ensure timely repairs are completed and customer expectations are met
-Works with other service personnel to ensure billing and warranty claims are done accurately and in a timely manner
-Schedules and assigns jobs and work areas to employees in the Service Department according to their skills and knowledge
-Assist other departments within the dealership as needed (i.e. loading/unloading equipment, assist customers at parts counter during peak times, etc.)
-Lead and drive performance for the service department, communicating with the necessary personnel on a daily, weekly, or monthly cadence pending topic
-Reviews work orders for completeness and accuracy prior to customer billing
-Ensures all departmental tools, equipment, and vehicles are in good working order
-Fields and responds to customer calls, questions, and inquiries
-Other duties as assigned

Desired Skills and Qualifications:
-Background with the turf industry and golf and turf equipment and/or John Deere equipment
-Ability to use standard desktop applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions
-Ability to write and speak effectively to individuals and groups
-Familiar with John Deere and other similar product lines
-Basic understanding of financial principles relative to Service Department operations 
-Ability to analyze and interpret internal reports
-Ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed
-Excellent customer service skills
-High School Diploma or equivalent experience
