Position Summary:

Responsible for operating a stationary or traveling crane to lift, move, position, and reposition loads. Depresses buttons, lifts levers and ensures load is safely attached to crane before bringing it down. If crane work is not available, other duties assigned. Current Crane experience with Mobil Truck Cranes, RT Cranes, and Tower Cranes.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for facilitating and completing annual crane training-(up to two (2) times per year).
    • Up to 10% of total profit paid for training after successful completion.
  • Operate crane under general supervisions
  • Manipulate or depress crane controls to regulate speed and direction of crane and hoist movement according to written, verbal or signal instructions.
  • Inspect crane for safety issues on a daily basis
  • Complete job tickets, service quality summaries, and all other necessary paperwork.
  • Drive trucks to worksites and unload trucks.
  • Work with in precise limits and standards of accuracy
  • Place blocks and outriggers to prevent capsizing when lifting heavy loads
  • Determine and report if any parts are not working

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or
  • Three years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • NCCCO Certified

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.
  • Ability to add, subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.
  • Ability to read a tape measure

REASONING ABILITY

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructions.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY LEVEL

  • Heavy physical activity performing strenuous daily activities of a primarily product/technical nature.
  • Manually lift a variety of materials, equipment and other necessary objects.
  • Carry heavy loads of material on shoulder from a specified area to where work is being done.
  • Lift objects weighing up to 100 pounds with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing 50 pounds
  • Work in cramped areas – i.e., boom lifts and scissors lift.
  • Work in awkward body positions.
  • Work for long periods in air/ on steel.
  • Use hands and arms fully.
  • Must be agile enough to walk over voided spaces, muddy, icy, wet, slippery and/ or uneven terrain.
  • Climb up and down ladders, scaffolding or other objects and maintain balance.
  • Able to access multiple levels of an unapproved building/ incomplete project.
  • Tolerate heights without fear.
  • Bend over for long periods of time (i.e. tying/ welding steel together, spotting clips, crimping roof, pouring concrete etc.)
  • Stoop, kneel crouch and crawl to reach for and position reinforcing material.
  • Will be required to work and under adverse weather conditions.
