Summary/Objective
We are seeking a skilled Vehicle and Small Engine Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diagnosing and repairing a variety of vehicles and small engines, ensuring optimal performance and safety. This role involves working with all types of vehicles, roofing equipment, generators, spray rigs and other small equipment to complete repairs and maintenance.

Essential Functions:

•    Diagnose mechanical issues across different vehicle and small engine types.
•    Perform maintenance and repairs on vehicles, roofing equipment, generators, and other small engine equipment.
•    Test and inspect engines for malfunctioning parts and diagnoses engine issues.
•    Conduct routine inspections and troubleshoot equipment with both gas and diesel engines including hydraulic equipment to ensure proper functionality.
•    Order, pick-up and replace parts, such as brakes, oil filters, spark plugs, and perform oil changes and other scheduled maintenance tasks.
•    Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to effectively identify issues.
•    Maintain accurate records of repairs, services performed, parts ordered and part inventory.
•    Communicate with management regarding service options, recommendations, and cost estimates.
•    Works in a constant state of alertness, adhere to OSHA and Heidler safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
•    Performs other duties as required such as coordinating grounds maintenance, pulling dumpsters and picking up or dropping off vehicles or equipment when necessary.

Work Environment
Vehicle/Roof equipment mechanic generally works in a well-ventilated but noisy repair shop. They sometimes make onsite repair calls, which may require working in poor weather conditions. 

Physical Demands
Physical demands are based on the ability to perform the following actions throughout an 8–10-hour period of work for a 4–7-day work week.
