Union Journeyman Scale. $ $42.77 – 50.00 per hour (based on union, experience, and type of work).

Job Summary: Our Milling Foreman is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of an asphalt milling crew. This role ensures that milling operations are performed safely, efficiently, and to the specified depth and grade, supporting the paving process for roads, highways, and parking lots.
Other Requirements: All candidates are required to pass a thorough Background Check, Physical and Drug Test. References may also be checked. We participate in E-Verify.
Job Duties & Requirements:

- Lead, supervise, and direct the milling crew, including operators, laborers, and truck drivers.
- Review and interpret job specifications, grade sheets, and milling depths.
- Ensure milling machines are operated efficiently and maintained properly.
- Coordinate milling operations with paving foremen, traffic control teams, and project managers.
- Set up job sites with proper safety barriers, signage, and traffic control in accordance with DOT or company standards.
- Conduct pre-shift safety meetings and enforce all jobsite safety rules, including daily huddles and toolbox talks.
- Monitor work progress to ensure quality, productivity, and compliance with job requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to equipment, material, or site conditions.
- Maintain daily job logs, time sheets, and equipment tracking reports.
- Train and mentor crew members on best practices and safe operating procedures.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in milling or asphalt paving, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of milling equipment (Wirtgen, etc.) and processes.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, grades, and layouts.
- Familiar with DOT specifications and construction safety regulations.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license required (CDL preferred).
- Willingness to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Safety experience/knowledge

- Industry knowledge/hands-on experience preferred
- Safety awareness (MMUTCD, OSHA understanding)
