A Typical Work Day May Include:
Provide recommendations about planning and engineering issues.
Coordinate floodplain activities as the City’s Floodplain Administrator.
Design and perform construction management for City infrastructure projects.
Review site plans, drainage plans and other items associated with development planning approvals.

What You Will Need:
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, required by May 2025.
Valid Kansas Engineer Intern certificate, required within twelve months of hire date.
Valid Kansas driver’s license, and driving record must meet commercial liability insurance requirements.

What Will Put You Ahead:
Knowledge of engineering principles and practices in the design and construction of municipal projects.
Ability to operate engineering equipment needed for surveying such as a total station.
Skill in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
