Summary

Responsible for overall project direction, quality control, customer satisfaction, timely completion, and financial success of construction projects from receipt of initial budget from estimating to final completion. Works closely with field superintendents and foremen to establish and monitor project schedules; identify, estimate, and track change order work; and help coordinate subcontractor’s work. Forecasts and evaluates self-perform labor, equipment and materials and adjusts plans as needed to maximize project profitability. Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems within the project including coordinating with city, county, state engineers, craft unions, news media and subcontractors
  • Project and track job costs
  • Prepare progress payment applications to owners and track timely payments
  • Authorize and approve all project transactions
  • Implement and facilitate safety programs
  • Create and update master project schedules
  • Ensure company procedures, policies, quality, and labor agreements are maintained

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and / or Construction Management preferred and / or five (5) to ten (10) years of experience in related field
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Possess good organization skills
  • Must be quick to adapt and able to thrive in a fast paced, high-pressure environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project) and .PDF takeoff software (Adobe Pro, Bluebeam) are essential
  • Problem solving skills with attention to detail
  • Self-motivated; ability to work independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
