
Job Title – Director of Preconstruction
Location – Various Domestic Locations

What You Will Do
- Establish the division strategy, vision, and business plan to secure private work.
- Coordinate, manage, and supervise the work of Business Development and Marketing.
- Oversee marketing efforts to establish the Caddell brand, and to develop collateral materials necessary for marketing Caddell to the private sector.
- Establish and maintain relationships with existing and new clients. Foster and enhance relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors while demonstrating an advanced capability to collaborate with all stakeholders through the design process.
- Oversee the Business Development and Marketing use of CRM system.
- Attend and participate in business meetings, industry event and conferences to promote Caddell in the private sector.
- Prepare and analyze cost models during the Design Development and/or bidding period. Develop conceptual estimates independently.
- Review progress estimates at design milestones, evaluate material and system costs, review document progress and coordination.
- Review estimates, including general conditions, for accuracy and completeness.
- Develop strategies for proposals, presentations, and pre-qualifications for project pursuits. Track hit rates and other metrics where appropriate to measure success.
- Establish a process for Go/No-Go decisions for project pursuits.
- Working Conditions – Some travel required. Some light lifting may be required (50 lbs.), walking standing, sitting, keyboarding, writing and reading. Work performed in a controlled indoor environment with some onsite visits subject to heat, cold and humid conditions.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities – Extensive experience providing preconstruction service in the private sector. Strong business and technical writing skills, strong organizational skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills. Experience making presentations. Leadership ability and a strong sense of urgency. General knowledge of all aspects of construction including MEP system costs, project accounting, contract law, and project management control systems (scheduling, estimating, cost control, BIM, and VD&C, construction cost databases)
Education / Experience - Minimum four-year degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture. 10 Years Preconstruction Experience and 5 years of construction field experience preferred. Experience with architects, engineers and private owners in the Southeast United States.
