Six Side Supply is looking for an MEP Supply Chain Manager to join our growing team!  We’re excited to bring on a professional who can balance both the strategic and tactical elements of MEP Supply Chain Manager.

MEP SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGER

The primary role of the MEP Supply Chain Manager is to lead the procurement process for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) equipment and systems. This essential role ensures the timely and cost-effective acquisition of high-quality MEP components and services, supporting project delivery and execution on a national scale.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of procurement experience in MEP sectors (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing)

Preferred:

  • 7-10 years of procurement experience in MEP sectors (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing)
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Experience using supply chain management software and tools
  • Certifications in Logistics / Supply Chain / CPIM
  • In-depth knowledge of preparing and reviewing contracts, invoicing, and negotiation terms
  • Experience and passion for exploration and utilization of AI for procurement

Skills:

  • Ability to communicate with multiple levels across organization; effectively convey technical topics to non-technical audience
  • Demonstrated experience in managing large procurement projects within the construction or infrastructure industry
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access)
  • Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques
  • Management and leadership skills
  • Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Office and Travel:

  • Regular travel to jobsites may be necessary, up to an average of 25% travel time
  • Hybrid office attendance

Responsibilities and Tasks:

Procurement Strategy 

  • Develop inventive, cost-effective procurement strategies.
  • Build and maintain long-term vendor and supplier relationships.
  • Conduct risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements
  • Control procurement budgets while promoting a culture of value.
  • Review contracts to ensure ongoing feasibility with suppliers and vendors.
  • Source and engage reliable suppliers and vendors.
  • Negotiate advantageous terms with suppliers and vendors.
  • Oversee and manage IT systems tracking shipments, inventory, and supply of goods.
  • Prepare procurement reports.

Procurement 

  • Handle solicitations and bids, including solicitation management.
  • Review and analyze proposals and bids.
  • Negotiate and execute vendor/supplier contracts.
  • Ensure compliance with engineered submittal schedules, design standards, and team review approvals.
  • Conduct quality reviews/inspections at factories or fabrication sites and document findings.
  • Coordinate and ensure compliance with fabrication and delivery schedules; communicate updates to project teams.
  • Coordinate delivery logistics for international and national shipments.
  • Perform on-site and delivery inspections of equipment/materials.
  • Address short-ship items and quality issues with vendors/suppliers.
  • Coordinate startup and technical services (scope of work and schedule).
  • Manage warranty compliance and documentation.
  • Assemble and upload final as-builts and O&M documentation.

Management 

  • Manage and oversee a growing procurement team.
  • Hiring/Training: Participate in hiring/selection process of new team members. Provide onboarding and training for new hires. Identify skill gaps and plan for necessary training and development. Foster continuous learning and professional growth
  • Performance Management: Provide direct management and guidance to the risk team members including handling regular 1:1s, assess team performance and provide ongoing feedback and annual review process, address any performance issues and implement improvement plans. Recognize and reward outstanding contributions.
  • Communication: Provide guidance on company policy/philosophy as they relate to the team. Ensure clear and transparent communication within the team. Develop and implement department strategies and align team goals with company’s vision and objectives.
  • Compliance: Promote ethical behavior and decision-making, handle conflicts and disciplinary actions according to company guidelines. Maintain a safe and inclusive work environment.
  • Leadership: set clear objectives and goals for team. Foster positive and productive working relations by proving guidance and mentorship to team members.

Position involves sitting for extended periods of time at employee’s work station and during meetings as well as while traveling, either by plane or car. Employee needs to be able to lift up to 20 pounds as frequently as needed to move objects; dexterity to write and manipulate computer keyboard and mouse; ability to hear and speak clearly; and ability to distinguish between colors on graphs and charts.

Occasionally, employee will be required to visit construction jobsites which may expose the employee to dirt, dust, uneven surfaces, outdoor weather conditions and extreme temperatures.

In alignment with our commitment to pay transparency, the base salary range for this position is $100,000 to $130,000, excluding fringe benefits or potential bonuses. If you join McGough, your final base salary will be determined by several factors, including geography, location, skills, education, and experience. Furthermore, we place significant value on pay equity among our current team members as part of any final job offer.

Please note that the range provided above reflects the hiring range for this role. Hiring near the top end of this range would be atypical, as we aim to allow room for future salary growth.
