Position Overview:
The Chief Development Officer (CDO) will be a cornerstone of the executive leadership team, charged with driving strategic growth, innovation, and long-term sustainability. This role will oversee the development and leadership of the utility department to foster innovation, ensure operational excellence, and deliver growth opportunities. The CDO will focus on expanding the company’s market presence, building key client relationships, and implementing innovative strategies that keep the organization at the forefront of the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Growth and Development:
- Develop and implement strategies to drive business growth, including market expansion, service diversification, and innovation.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and collaborations to enhance company performance.
- Monitor industry trends and align company objectives to capitalize on emerging opportunities.
- Utility Department Leadership and Innovation:
- Oversee the utility department, focusing on growth, operational efficiency, and service quality.
- Foster a culture of innovation, encouraging teams to develop and implement forward-thinking solutions.
- Lead efforts to identify and implement technologies and methodologies that improve accuracy, efficiency, and safety.
- Collaborate with utility teams to foresee and address future challenges while exploring innovative ideas for market expansion.
- Revenue and Market Expansion:
- Develop revenue-focused strategies, including innovative pricing models, strategic partnerships, and service enhancements.
- Lead initiatives to penetrate new markets and sectors, strengthening the company’s market position.
- Build strong relationships with high-value clients, ensuring long-term collaboration and satisfaction.
- Client Retention and Relationship Management:
- Create and execute client retention strategies to foster loyalty and satisfaction.
- Serve as the executive contact for key accounts, addressing client needs with professionalism and efficiency.
- Partner with teams to refine service delivery models to meet and exceed client expectations.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Build and manage high-performing teams across utility operations, sales, and marketing.
- Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation within the organization.
- Mentor and guide employees to achieve professional growth and drive organizational success.
- Financial and Performance Accountability:
- Work with the CEO and CFO to achieve revenue and profitability goals.
- Define and monitor KPIs for utility operations and other key business functions.
- Regularly report on growth initiatives, outcomes, and strategic planning to the executive leadership team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in senior leadership roles, particularly within the utility, construction, or industrial sectors.
- Demonstrated success in driving growth, innovation, and market expansion.
- Strong expertise in utility department operations, including managing and implementing advanced technologies.
- Proven ability to lead teams and foster a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
- A results-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering measurable outcomes.
