Job Overview

We are recruiting an Industrial Electrician to join our team at the BHP Jansen Potash Mine in Jansen, SK. This position is based on a 14/7 rotation and is camp-based at the Jansen Discovery Lodge.

The Industrial Electrician will work as part of a team to install, test, troubleshoot and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, control devices, and related equipment in an industrial environment.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications to determine layouts of industrial electrical equipment installations.
  • Install, examine, replace, or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fiber-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures, and other electrical components.
  • Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance.
  • Install, and test switchgear, NGR’s, transformers.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair industrial, electrical, and electronic control systems and other related devices.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records.
  • Installation of cable tray and raceways.

 Requirements

  • Must possess construction and industrial electrical experience.
  • Must be a Certified Electrical Journeyperson.
  • Must be able to take initiative, work independently as well as in a team.
  • Must be reliable and dependable (i.e.: punctual and ready to work).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A demonstrated ability to work safely.
  • Must be fit-for-duty.
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Must be immediately eligible/able to work in Canada.
  • Must pass Criminal Record Check.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol test including cannabis.
