Qualitative Research Director

Our team is looking for a Qualitative Research Director (RD) to be responsible for implementation and oversight of qualitative projects of increasing complexity from study initiation through delivery of data and reporting. The RD manages, maintains, and grows existing clients and oversees all work involved in successful project execution.

The candidate should have a sense of humor, organizational skills, and a love of all things research would be great, too.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Account Executives/Vice Presidents in growing client’s business with qualitative solutions
  • Train and mentor Project Directors
  • Take ownership of projects under their direction
  • Understand and execute overall project goals and objectives
  • Prepare RFQs and proposals for clients
  • Manage client relationship/ongoing communications
  • Participate in study design
  • Run study meetings and internal project team meetings
  • Design moderator guides and recruitment screeners
  • Collaborate with recruiters to ensure recruitment needs are met
  • Oversee and lead cognitive interviews, in-depth interviews, focus groups, and moderate online bulletin boards
  • Analyze qualitative data using a variety of tools including NVivo
  • Write effective qualitative reports that bring the data to life
  • Coordinate with client service teams on qualitative deliverables 
  • Monitor costs against budget
  • Assist in preparation of papers for presentations/white papers to be used for promotional purposes and marketing
  • Other duties as the needs of the business dictate

 

Position Requirements:

  • Masters degree in marketing, social science, business or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • 5-8+ years of related experience
  • Demonstrated experience in qualitative interviewing/moderation
  • Demonstrated experience in qualitative analysis and reporting
  • Ability to problem solve/critical thinking
  • Professional attitude and strong interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft products
  • Proficiency with NVivo
  • Ability to lead and direct cross functional project teams
  • Organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects while preserving attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit in front of a computer for long hours
