Casella Construction is offering a Summer Internship in Maintenance, an opportunity to join us in the Spring/Summer of 2025 for our Paid Internship. This internship will focus on honing your practical skills and field experience in maintenance within our Fleet & Maintenance Department.

Our internship program aligns with your school’s curriculum. Learn firsthand what it takes to maintain and repair heavy equipment and enhance your knowledge of what you learned in the classroom. You'll get hands-on experience learning maintenance functions, diagnostic skills, and safety tasks, including:

  • Performing routine inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Diagnosing mechanical issues and determining appropriate repair solutions.
  • Assisting with the ordering and inventory management of parts and supplies.
  • Maintaining accurate records of maintenance and repairs performed.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of diesel and heavy equipment.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues and determine appropriate repair solutions.
  • Assist with the ordering and inventory management of parts and supplies.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs performed.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Support the maintenance team in various tasks as needed.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues.
  • Assist with parts ordering and inventory management.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a relevant degree program (e.g., Diesel Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology).
  • Strong interest in maintenance and repair of heavy equipment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • High proficiency with tools and diagnostic equipment.

Benefits:

Our Spring / Summer 2025 Internships are 8-12 weeks, 40 hours or more per week and generally start in the May / June timeframe (start and end dates are flexible based on your availability).
