Project Engineer will:
- Learn about construction through engagement with superintendents, project managers, owners, architects, subcontractors, and engineers.
- Review and enforce subcontract agreements necessary for the completion of the project.
- Review and adhere to the project budget.
- Ensure that the project moves forward in a timely, cost-effective manner, making changes and adjustments as necessary.
- Manage RFI, submittal and punchlist processes.
- Work with project team to organize and report construction activities.
- Study the plans, specifications, and owner contract in order to understand what is required to build the job.
- Assist in enforcing safety guidelines and operational requirements on the jobsite.
- Enforce all quality control policies and procedures.
- Help to identify and resolve scope conflicts, working with Project Manager to attain resolution as soon as possible.
- Maintain constant communication with all project team members throughout the construction and closeout of the project.
- Maintain documentation of all efforts related to the management of the project using approved company means and methods.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management or similar field preferred, or 2 years of commercial construction management experience
- Excellent communication abilities, including writing, speaking and active listening
- Good planning and organizational skills, including design execution, resource allocation and contingencies
- Great with problem solving and decision-making skills
- OSHA 10 Certification in Construction and a demonstrated in-depth understanding of local, state, and federal construction regulations, or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
